Pete Drewienkiewicz

Head of Manager Research

Pete started his career at Barclays Capital in 2002 on the Frequent User derivatives desk, providing hedging solutions for banks, building societies and project finance issuers. He then moved to UBS in the summer of 2004 where he became an executive director leading interest rate derivative sales.

Pete later assumed responsibility of covering LDI pensions managers and life insurance companies at Barclays Capital, before moving to RBC in 2009. At RBC, he initiated coverage of pensions and insurance clients in interest rate and inflation derivative products as well as gilts.

Prior to his move to Redington, Pete took responsibility at RBC for covering bank liquidity managers and assisted a number of the UK’s new start-up banks in the construction and acquisition of appropriate liquidity buffer portfolios for FSA compliance purposes.

Huayin Liu

Vice President, Manager Research

Huayin joined Redington’s graduate training programme in 2007 after having achieved a First Class Honours degree in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics from Heriot-Watt University.

After working as a quantitative analyst in the ALM & Investment Strategy team for two years, Huayin shifted his focus to manager research and managing the manager. He has helped to bring quantitative tools into the previously more qualitative manager research and monitoring process.

As well as being passionate about his job, Huayin is also enthusiastic about badminton and has played for over ten years. Huayin is working towards qualifying as an actuary.

Tom McCartan

Analyst, Manager Research

Tom graduated from University College Dublin with a degree in Actuarial and Financial Studies.

Prior to joining Redington, Tom worked at Mercer in a department that provided pension liability valuations to pension fund clients.

As a member of the Manager Research Team, Tom meets with fund managers, conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis of their investment processes, and presents findings to clients. The learning curve at Redington is certainly very steep, but Tom has found that the highly experienced and seasoned professionals who work around him in the intimate Redington environment have been an immense resource as he trains. He looks forward to continuing to learn from them and to developing a career in the pensions space.
