Investment Consulting

Assisting Directors on client accounts and gaining client exposure right from the start

Working closely with Asset Liability Management/Investment Strategy and Manager Research teams to deliver the highest quality of work possible, and attending client meetings to deliver this work.

Aiding Directors to prepare pitch books and responding to Requests for Proposals.

Keeping up to date with financial markets across all asset classes and understanding how changes in these markets will impact pension funds. This will include researching new investment ideas and asset classes suitable for pension funds. Playing a vital role in producing firm publications, including RedVision - our weekly market commentary, and RedViews - ad hoc thought pieces on topical issues.
Asset Liability Management / Investment Strategy

Modelling asset classes such as equities, credit, bonds, derivatives, hedge funds and other alternatives, in conjunction with modelling pension funds’ contingent liabilities.

Designing and implementing capital market and LDI solutions to reduce risk or increase expected return.

Analysing the risks in pension funds under Redington’s three lenses approach: calculating the risk exposure of portfolio assets and liabilities; investigating key sensitivities to changes in interest rate, inflation, credit and longevity; and analysing the performance of assets and liabilities under various stress-tests.

Monitoring the markets, and keeping abreast of key developments. You will also need to develop a solid understanding of products traded in the capital markets.

Liaising with investment consultants to understand the needs of the client and using Redington’s proprietary analytics, to deliver first class advice.
Manager Research

Researching new asset classes and feeding back your findings to both colleagues and clients. Working in the Manager Research Team will allow you to develop a good understanding of markets, asset classes and many different products. You will also get exposure to Redington’s clients and the services we offer them.

Meeting fund managers and conducting qualitative analysis of their people and processes. This will give you a chance to meet some of the world’s best fund managers and hear their ideas from the very start of your career.

Analysing investment performance and strategy, including quantitative analysis of fund manager performance and positions and presenting your work to clients. Redington uses a number of cutting edge software programmes and a bespoke analytical platform which you will be taught to master.

Working closely with the ALM / Investment Strategy and Investment Consulting Teams.
