About the event

The recent Autumn Statement from George Osborne carried a clear message – investment is needed from pension schemes to provide the funding necessary to meet the UK’s infrastructure needs.

As the Financial Times noted, “The problem is that most UK pension funds are simply too small and cannot afford the expertise needed to analyse and research the increasingly complex world of infrastructure investments.”

In this Teach-In, Redington is joined by experienced infrastructure finance professionals from Evolution Securities to explain the investment opportunity and highlight different ways for pension schemes to access UK infrastructure.  We will describe how to originate and invest in appropriately structured long-term transactions in this sector, particularly suitable for schemes without in-house infrastructure expertise.

We are delighted to confirm that Doug Segars will be addressing the audience.  Doug is the Head of Finance Team at Infrastructure UK (IUK), a non-statutory body within Her Majesty’s Treasury.  IUK recently produced the 2011 National Infrastructure Plan and are the instigators of the Governments approach to engage UK pension schemes to provide the required capital for the UK’s significant future infrastructure requirements.
